I am missing a few days of patisserie because I have only just started documenting them and some of them were not particularly good. Missing 2 chocolate eclairs, the sublime tarte chocolat from Reine Margot in rue charonne and an inadequate strawberry tart, the less said the better (sadly from one of the closest boulangeries!). The first eclair was from Les delice de charonne, where I have been with J, and it was very rich, with chocolate choux pastry, extra rich dark chocolate creme patissiere and a dark chocolate glaze. Very decadent. The second eclair was a bit more user friendly on a hot day with a light choux pastry and a light milk chocolate creme patissiere. It was from the yellow boulangerie near marche reunion .. a tip from N. It is not pear season but tarte poire et chocolat is a perennial favourite. I have not had or even seen a good one yet but will head down rue de la roquette next week to see if they still have it at our old haunt, although it was winter then so it won’t be as good. Quite a lot of cheesecake about, but I will try the one from the fromagerie on rue Pyrenees as it looks simple and unfussy.
